Haagse Harry is the most famous comic hero from The Hague. The Hague cartoonist Marnix Rueb created him after living in the Schilderswijk for a while. Harry is honoured with a statue on the Grote Markt. The statue is designed by Bouke Schuemie and sculpted by Rob Daenen. In the background you can see the Boterwaag. In the past butter and cheese was traded here and now there is a grand cafe.
