Petten aan Zee's Pole Village is a work of art and monument, consisting of a large number of poles on the border of the land and the sea. It is a reminder of the flood that hit Petten a few hundred years ago and swept away almost the entire village. You will find the Palendorp on the beach at Bergeendstraat. This beautiful work of art consists of a total of 160 poles of six to twelve meters in length and is a gift from the contractor combination Van Oord-Boskalis. The posts are in the shape of ten houses and a church.
