"Petrol: Shells with abstract painterly reflection" is a photograph of a (half) Drill Mussel in the foreground and a faint Drill Mussel in the background. The background of this scene is a reflective material with some kind of texture in it, so the reflection of the shells is not tight but somewhat abstract and painterly. This gives a nice effect to the picture. The background has a petrol colour and this is also reflected in the reflection in the ground surface. A photo that reminds me of peace, simplicity, holidays and the beach!
When taking this photo, I chose to set my camera so that the focus is on the front of the front drill mussel and the further back (or forward) you look, the gradually the focus decreases. This firstly gives a sense of depth in the photo and secondly creates a calmness in the image.
This photo could hang beautifully as wall decoration in the dining room, kitchen, bedroom or just above the sofa! (Also, of course, beautiful in business spaces such as on the wall in a meeting room, office, waiting room or practice room!)
