This aquarium contains 5 layers of tropical fish. The underlying structure is a Penrose P3 tessellation with distorted thick and thin rhombi. In each layer, the patterns of the pentagrams strongly depend on the color of the tropical fish.
The rhombi have 2 types of distorted edges. The multigrid approach of N.G. de Bruijn, my former professor, was used to construct the image. Next, the edges of adjacent rhombi are defined according to Penrose's matching rules.
My training as a mathematician and my experience as a software programmer are the basic elements for designing my works of art.
