Peach Abstract Painting: A Single Drop of Dew in Undulating Light by Surreal Media

In this work, you can see a undulating flow of colour moving from bottom to top across the entire surface, as if marbled veins of paint were curling around soft, rounded forms. Soft peach, faded lilac and warm grey blend into one another, and precisely where the colours meet, shimmering ridges emerge, almost like waves that have just solidified. Right at the bottom, amongst the broader areas, there is a single small patch of pale pink that glows just a little brighter than the rest – a solitary dewdrop that has lingered in the movement.

It began with a sense of calm and space: not many elements, but plenty of air to breathe. I let myself be guided by a delicate texture, by something that feels fine and fragile, almost as if it might shift at the slightest touch. Stylists advise looking for that sort of subtle tension precisely in minimalist abstract works, and that is exactly what is happening here: tranquillity on the surface, movement beneath. The atmosphere is cool and calm, with just enough warmth in the peach and lilac tones to keep it soft rather than aloof. It is a work that does not demand attention, but invites you to look for longer, and that fits with the message I wanted to convey: tranquillity and space to breathe; less is more. The emotions I feel when looking at it are tranquillity, balance and clarity, as if you could pause for a moment without anything being asked of you.

As a digital artwork, it has the appearance of thick, flowing layers of paint with a slight relief where the colours converge, without ever having involved a brush or canvas. In the home, it works beautifully in a living room where you like to unwind, in a bedroom that needs to remain peaceful, or in an office where you need a moment of clarity whilst working. It also does exactly what it promises in a hall, as the first moment of respite upon entering. Or take a look at: "Rivier van Rozerood" our latest addition!
