About the artwork
"Peace and simplicity in the dandelion" is a macro photo of the fluff of a dandelion photographed from diagonally below. This creates a separate effect where the dandelion's fluff looks like umbrellas held in the air, and as a viewer you feel as if you are inside the dandelion's fluff ball.
The chosen depth of field, besides creating a dreamy atmosphere, also creates the sense of depth in the work. If you zoom in on the work, you can see this clearly. The focus is on the middle fluff (where the stalk turns into fluff), and the further something is in front or behind it, the blurrier it becomes.
The colours in this work are soft and natural. This creates, despite the many lines of dandelion fluff, a fairly calm, natural image.
The macro photography makes these tiny fluff look like umbrellas's floating in the air. The background is barely noticeable, the fluff fills almost the entire image.
This work could, for example, hang beautifully as wall decoration in a bedroom, waiting room or, of course, just above the sofa!
