Purple parrot tulip painted with watercolor. I painted this tulip in different ways. The tulip is a flowerbulb and flowers in spring with a lot of different colors. Flower bulb fields are mainly found in the west of the Netherlands. The bulbs grow on sandy soil.
Art on canvas looks great on any wall. It truly comes into its own with paintings featuring sharp brushstrokes.
I have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
