Museum Park in Rotterdam is located on the former land of the Van Hoboken family which has long remained undeveloped because it was private property. The park was landscaped in the late twenties to a design by city architect Witteveen; the western part was redesigned in the nineties by Rem Koolhaas' Office for Metropolitan Architecture . In the ceter of the park is an event plaza, painted in the colors of the European flag; this is the location of festivals like the Parade and the open air cinema.
This spherical panorama was composed of 14 photographs, taken shortly after a rain shower which makes the plaza quite shiny. Below left are the Erasmus Medical Center and Sophia Children's Hospital; at the top we see Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and the New Institute (formerly Dutch Architecture Institute)
