The Oudehaven is one of the oldest ports in Rotterdam. It is located in the center of the city, southeast of Rotterdam Blaak station.
After damming the Rotte at the Hoogstraat, the Middeldam, a stump remained to the south of the river with a connection to the Meuse, surrounded by marshland. The first jetty was built here around 1350. Nowadays it is a well-known and busy nightlife area with cafes and restaurants with terraces on the water near the famous cube houses and Europe's first skyscraper the White House and the adjacent Marines Museum. The Hogeschool Rotterdam also has a branch in the area.
