Oriental lantern with pink cherry blossom and calligraphy

by Studio Pieternel

● Exclusive design for Werk aan de Muur / Art Heroes This minimalist piece exudes a serene, warm atmosphere and makes for an attractive focal point in any interior. It depicts an elongated Asian lantern in soft, warm pastel shades with a subtle texture. The lantern is elegantly decorated with a characteristic tree branch full of bright pink cherry blossom, also known as sakura.
In the bottom right-hand corner of the image is a traditional red seal bearing calligraphic characters. These oriental characters carry a beautiful symbolic meaning; they represent concepts such as ‘ 'geluk', 'voorspoed' en 'harmonie' ’, which adds an extra layer of positivity and tranquillity to the artwork.

The artistic style reflects the elegance of traditional Asian watercolours and ink drawings, but with a contemporary, sleek touch. This piece fits perfectly with current interior design trends that focus on tranquillity and natural atmospheres. It is an excellent addition to a Japandi interior, where the balance between Scandinavian minimalism and Japanese warmth is sought. This artwork also comes into its own within a modern, botanical or minimalist interior style. Hang it in the living room, hallway or bedroom to create a calming focal point. The warm tones combine beautifully with natural materials such as light oak, bamboo and linen.
