This captain is a real barn find, which still looks like the original to a large extent and was even regularly used until 2014. The round headlamps did not come into series production until 1948 with the post-war production and the halogen fog lamps below did not exist at that time either. The nameplate clearly shows the year of production 1939, and it was produced in this form from 1938-1940 and modified for war purposes in the years that followed, like so many other makes and models. Only after the war did he live again in this form from 1948-1953, after which the famous '54 Captain came with the "Sharkmouth"-radiator grill.
