Rembrandt painted the wedding portrait at the age of 28, commissioned by the two young married Marten Soolmans and Oopjen Coppit in Amsterdam in 1634. The more than two-meter high portraits then stayed nearly 400 years privately. Rembrandt painted the wedding portrait at the age of 28, commissioned by the two young married in 1634 in Amsterdam. The meticulous rendering of the rich costumes, the mobility of the characters and the subtle lighting make that we can count these paintings to the masterpieces of Rembrandt. The portraits depict moreover a milestone in Dutch history: the rise of the ambitious young Republic in the Golden Age. That these two Amsterdam citizens in this period so? Leave portraying n regal air in the richest costumes to the latest French fashion says a lot about their pride and prosperity and the rise and pretentiousness of the young republic. Hitherto standing lifesize portraits reserved only for princes and nobility. It was Rembrandt's first life-size, single and full-length painted pendant portraits and also the only one he would ever make.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
