The Maashorst nature reserve is home to herds of tauros that provide grazing there. Several times a day, the herd is on the move to go from one place to another, in this case on its way to open water. Even if there is snow which is moist, the animals just need to be able to drink every now and then.
With the lead cow in front, the entire herd can be seen, even visible as far as the distance where they are still coming around the corner.
The tauros is the bred auroch which is used for grazing in some nature reserves in the Netherlands and abroad.
As a photographer I have been photographing large grazers in all nature reserves in the Netherlands in recent years, of which the Maashorst near Uden is my home base.
