One of the Dutch Wadden Islands is Vlieland which belongs to the province of Friesland until 1942 it belonged to the province of North Holland. Vlieland is the smallest Dutch inhabited Wadden Island. Tourism is the main source of income on Vlieland. Of the five Dutch Wadden Islands, Vlieland has the highest dune top: 45 meters high.
