Lake Garda, one of the upper Italian lakes, is the largest lake in Italy, named after the municipality of Garda on the eastern shore.
Lake Garda is famous for its Mediterranean vegetation: olives, vines and chestnuts thrive in this microclimate, as do oleanders, lemons and oranges. The interplay of water, high mountains and rolling hills, as well as special winds, are reflected in a rich variety of plants.
