The Oldemeijer Haarplas: Icy silence at dawn

On a cuttingly cold winter morning in Overijssel, I found myself at the edge of the Oldemeijer Haarplas, deep in the Staatsbossen near Hardenberg. The world seemed to stand still. The water lay motionless, a thick layer of ice had formed along the banks over the past few days, and the frozen bushes glistened in the first light.

In the middle of this serene setting stood a weathered wooden cottage on stilts, connected to the bank by a narrow, creaky bridge. It looks like a place from a forgotten time, a refuge for those seeking silence. The first rays of the sun cast a warm glow over the landscape, illuminating the golden-yellow grass and misty sky in soft hues.

The sky above the lake turns pink and purple, while dark silhouettes of trees mark the horizon. The breath of morning hangs over the water like a thin mist. Here, in the chilly silence of nature, you feel the grandeur of simplicity.

Haarplas is more than a landscape; it is a snapshot of calm and unspoilt beauty. A place where the cold sharpens your senses and you hear the rhythm of nature - icy, but breathtakingly pure.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
