About the artwork
"Old pink with golden brown "dancing" hydrangea leaf" is a macro photo of a simple hydrangea leaf (a stalk with four leaves on it) that has been dried by the sun making the veins very visible. With the lighting chosen and the mirrored background, I think it looks like the leaf is dancing.
A quietly simple image which was not easy to make.
For depth of field, I only wanted to have a small part in focus (of the front leaf). From there, I wanted everything to the front and back to gradually fade, to create a calmer image. The big advantage here was also that the background would be fairly even (just some gradients in colour). The old-pink colour with the golden-brown hydrangea leaf, which also has some pink because of the surroundings, gives the work an old-fashioned warm colour feel.
This piece could hang beautifully as a wall decoration in the bedroom, kitchen, dining room, hall or just above the sofa in the living room! Also beautiful on the wall in a meeting room or waiting room (business).
