About ‘Old harbor in Assen in evening light’ by Theo Felten

The inner city of Assen at night. The crescent moon has just risen. Cars pass the characteristic facades of the old city center. Because I used a long shutter time (10 seconds) the car lights form long stripes above the road. The effect emphasizes the city bustle (although in Assen the traffic is never really stuck:)). The light from the streetlights and the cars reflects in the still water of the former harbor. The wider part of the water in the foreground is known in Assen as the Kop van de Vaart and is a so-called kolk, or whirlpool. Because the canal dead-ends here, cargo ships had to be able to turn around here. The wider part at the Kop van de Vaart was intended for this purpose. Now the harbor is used by pleasure craft and a pancake ship.
As an Assen inhabitant I am extra proud of this photo of course. A photo like this fits nicely into an urban or industrial interior and goes well with black, gray or brown tones. And if you live in Assen then this photo belongs on your wall anyway!

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
