About "Old coloured picture on postcard of the zoo in Rott"

About the artwork

Old coloured picture on postcard of the Rotterdam Zoo in 1901, which at the time was still located on Kruiskade. It was then a society where only members (prominent citizens) were allowed inside to enjoy the mostly special birds that flew around. Later, the garden became more extensive and Rotterdam non-members were also occasionally allowed inside. By then, it was already a very modern zoo where the animals were not in pens but could already roam freely in a kind of natural environment. A few years before the war, the zoo moved to Blijdorp but some animals remained in the old zoo. The zoo was hit during the 1940 bombardment in which many animals died and a few also escaped. For example, a zebra walked the streets and sea lions swam in the canals.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
