The Obdammermolen in the Berkmeer in North Holland is shrouded in mist on this autumn day in December. There is a thin layer of ice on the ditch, reflecting the mill beautifully. The frost on the grass is still present on this cold day, where ducks rest in the meadow.
The Obdammermolen is an octagonal indoor windmill that was probably built in the last quarter of the 17th century. As a rule, 1698 is kept as the year of construction. Together with a pumping station, it operated the 905-hectare Obdam polder on the Vereenigde Raaksmaats- and Niedorperkoggeboezem.
