About the artwork

The "Elevador da Bica" is more than just a means of transport - it is a living monument to Lisbon's city history. This characteristic funicular railway has been climbing the steep Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo in the district of the same name since 1892. In this night-time shot, the yellow-lit carriage unfolds its full nostalgic magic: the lanterns bathe the cobblestones in a warm light as the carriage resolutely makes its way uphill - a symbol of continuity in a changing city.

This photo not only captures the history of technology and the cityscape of Lisbon, but also evokes emotions: It tells of a decelerated attitude to life, of the magic of the night and the quiet rattling of the rails amidst historic architecture. At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
