On 10 May 2024, the Northern Lights were in the Netherlands. I then drove to the windmills in Leidschendam, hoping the Northern Lights could be seen there.

The northern lights, also known as aurora borealis. In the Netherlands and other more southern regions, the northern lights are often perceived as purple or reddish. This is due to a number of specific reasons:
- Further away from the Arctic Circle
- Lower intensity
The Northern Lights can be seen beautifully behind this mill. You can also see some stars that were visible this clear night. It was really beautiful!
