How special it is to see the shining night clouds coming in the night. The sun goes down and suddenly they are there: light stripes in the sky. When the sun goes down, those clouds look like they're giving light. The sun is behind the horizon but from there the shining night clouds can still shine because they are more than 80 kilometers above the earth! When it is clear, these clouds are therefore visible in the night. They consist of frosted dust from meteoroids, comets and asteroids. This dust hangs in a cloud above the North Pole. So we're looking at space dust with ice crystals very far away... how magical.
