Villa Emma is a mansion just outside the centre of the Dutch city Alkmaar. It is part of the complex "Nieuwlandersingel" which also includes the houses: Schoonzicht, Parkzicht, Villa Wilhelmina, Herenhuis Marianne and Herenhuis Hofdijk. The complex was built between 1904 and 1909, Villa Emma itself in 1905, in the style of Art Nouveau.[1] On 25 January 2002 Villa Emma was designated as a national monument, on 10 May that year the building was registered in the Monument Register under number 524878. The status was granted because the villa represents the oeuvre of E. Kalverboer. Locally, the building is important because it determines the image of the Singelgracht.
