About ‘Nieuw-Herlaer castle’ by Hans Janssen

The castle has its origins in the Middle Ages, when a fortified residential tower known as Herlaer stood at this location in the 14th century. This tower served as a residence for local nobles and played a role in defending the area.

In the 16th century, the residential tower was expanded into a full-fledged castle. It was given a more symmetrical arrangement with towers and outbuildings, typical of castles of the time. Herlaar Castle became a centre of power and influence in the region, inhabited by prominent noble families.

Throughout the centuries, the castle underwent various renovations and adaptations to suit the tastes and needs of its various owners. It served as a residence, hunting lodge and sometimes even as a fortress during conflicts.

During World War II, Castle Nieuw-Herlaer was used by the German occupiers as their headquarters. After the war, the castle fell into disrepair and was restored by new owners.

Today, Castle Nieuw-Herlaer is a private residence and not open to the public. It is still occupied and maintained by its owners, who cherish the historical heritage and preserve it for future generations. Its beautiful architecture and rich history make the castle a valuable treasure in the Brabant landscape.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
