On a foggy cold day in December, I took a walk around the Strijbeekse heathland, near Breda, the Netherlands. It is beautiful there at any time of year, and it did not disappoint this time either.
The mist makes the landscape smaller and subdued. The scene becomes calmer and you feel alone in the world.
You see a forest path which gives a view through to the heathland beyond. The eye is guided by the conifers to the rest of the path. The atmosphere is somewhat mystical through the mist and exudes tranquillity.
