n the Sinai desert, far from civilisation, lie the nawamis: mysterious round stone structures built from horizontally stacked slabs. They are among the oldest stone structures in Egypt, dating back to the Chalcolithic era - between 4,000 and 3150 BC.
This shot captures the depth and texture of the landscape. In the foreground are loose sandstone chunks, weathered by wind and time. On the right, you can see a nawamis up close, with a distinctive doorway facing west. Further into the image, several structures appear, as if woven into the landscape.
The soft shadows and clear sky make the atmosphere light and open, but at the same time steeped in history. The nawamis are silent but present, reminders of ancient rituals, burials or encounters that once took place in this place. This sculpture is an invitation to slow down and wonder in a timeless landscape.
