Felix Heinrich Wankel
Incidentally, the inventor of the Wankel engine did not have a driving licence throughout his life (* 13 August 1902 in Lahr; † 9 October 1988 in Heidelberg) because he was extremely short-sighted. He usually had his secretary or engineer Dankwart Eiermann chauffeur him, who also accompanied him on his many trips abroad. Dankwart Eiermann worked for Wankel from 1961.
