This portrait shows a young woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat, the brim of which partly shrouds her face in shadow. Her gaze is clear, her posture powerful and quiet at the same time. A work that plays with light, form and suggestion.
The portrait is composed of many loose black threads, which give the work a playful character. Together, they create a vivid image full of texture and movement. The subject shows subtle densities, especially in the hair and hat. The background of handmade paper gives the work a warm, natural base.
This work exudes mystery, style and elegance. It fits perfectly into interiors where fashion, character or artistic femininity are central. From a clothing studio to a quiet reading corner. It is part of a series of human portraits as well as a large number of animal wire portraits, including endearing baby animals. These can be found in my personal shop in the 'wire portraits' folder.
This series grew out of my love for materials with character and story. Handmade paper fascinates me. Every fibre, every irregularity is unique and depends on the origin of the paper. The thin black thread makes it fragile and in some places almost seems to merge into the paper itself. This combination, together with my passion for creating portraits of people and animals, ensures that I have worked on each artwork with great pleasure and dedication. Each portrait is carefully constructed using Artificial Intelligence, with an eye for detail and a deep sense of connection. A unique collaboration between human feeling and digital imagination.
