About ‘My Mermaid’ by Kristin Tessen

"My Mermaid" is a finely drawn portrait of a woman with finger wave hairstyle in the style of the 1920s. Her blue shirt collar slips off her shoulder, and from it, veil-tail fish emerge – light, floating, dreamlike.

The reduced yet detailed drawing plays with symbols of inner emotion and release: the fish represent hidden feelings or dreams gently moving outward. Wave-like motifs run through the image, connecting hairstyle, fabric, and movement. The drawing technique is based on countless deliberately placed pencil lines that create volume, structure, and flow. The restrained use of color emphasizes the line work and gives the piece a dreamlike, almost cinematic atmosphere.

The work is inspired by the aesthetics of classic 1920s films, as well as the natural movement of waves and the graceful, floating forms of veil-tail fish. These elements merge into a poetic depiction of inner depth, softness, and self-revelation. It speaks of letting go, inner strength, and quiet power.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
