This watercolour shows five strelitzia flowers - lively, bright and full of character.
Inspired by her own sketches and impressions of the gardens in Berlin, she has created a work that emphasises the special expressiveness of this plant.
The three lower flowers are interwoven - as if in an intense dialogue. The two upper ones detach themselves from this dialogue, stretching freely upwards. This composition tells of connection and individuality at the same time.
The picture was created using only four primary colours. All tones and transitions were mixed directly on the paper, giving the work depth, lightness and a harmonious radiance.
The mixture of clear forms, intense colour and fine transparency makes the watercolour a real eye-catcher - powerful, but not loud.
