This drone photo shows Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle as you rarely see it. From the air, the building is beautifully captured during the blue hour, the time when day slowly turns to evening. The warm light at the entrance contrasts beautifully with the cool colours of the sky, and the round dome atop the roof almost seems to float.
De Fundatie is a real eye-catcher in Zwolle. The building has a long history and was formerly used as the Palace of Justice. Nowadays, it is a museum with a special combination of old and new. The modern dome on top (also called the egg of Zwolle) was added in 2013 and is covered with thousands of shiny tiles. As a result, the look of the building keeps changing depending on how the light falls on it.
From the air, it is easy to see how De Fundatie is located in the middle of the historic city centre, surrounded by atmospheric streets and old buildings. This photo perfectly shows how Zwolle brings together its history and modern architecture in one impressive image.
I started drone photography since 2022 and it has since become a real passion to capture nature and urban landscapes as uniquely as possible. I do this both in the Netherlands and during my travels abroad.
