It was a somewhat gray, cold day in winter. But the need to get a breath of fresh air along the beach was strong. I went to the Brouwersdam to enjoy the sea and the birds.
It had been extremely low tide due to spring tide so there were many birds to see on the mudflats. I wanted to capture the feeling of the movement of the wind and water in my photo. I made this one with a slightly slower shutter speed which creates some motion blur in the water and the birds moving with it. The beautiful threatening cloud cover complements the image nicely.
In the distance you can see the beach and the lighthouse of Ouddorp.
