Amidst the Purple Heath. The heath between the Mark and the Aa or Weerijs. The Galderse Heide on the south side of the Mastbos is exuberantly sung about in the Breda Folk Song.
And rightly so. It is a pearl in the Pearl of the South.
A small moorland that is not found by very many people.
Especially in the early morning, around sunrise, it is worth a visit. And of course especially at the time when the heather is in full bloom in the month of August.
The first rays of the sun pierce through the surrounding trees. This creates a warm glow over part of the heathland. The path on the left gives a nice depth effect to the photo.
On a large, wall-to-wall print a landscape photo you can walk right into.
What started out as travel photography in the 1990s grew into a hobby that got out of hand. Photography became a daily activity.
