About ‘Molen in de Eilandspolder’ by Jan van der Knaap

Een oude molen in de Eilandspolder bij het kleine dorpje Schermerhorn, gemeente Alkmaar. Dit beschermde natuurgebied heeft een oppervlak van 1950 ha en bestaat voor een kwart uit water. Het is uniek gelegen tussen de historische dorpen Graft-De Rijp, Noordeinde, Grootschermer, Schermerhorn en Driehuizen.
De molen op de foto is De Havik, gebouwd in 1576. Het is een poldermolen, een achtkante binnenkruier van het type grondzeiler. Op dit moment is de molen in het bezit van de jazz-musicus Hans Dulfer die er ook woont. De molen is daarom ook niet te bezichtigen.
De foto is gemaakt op zondag 6 augustus 2018. Vanwege de historische waarde - ook deze molen werd gebruikt om het gebied in de 16e eeuw droog te malen - heb ik de foto in oud zwartwit uitgevoerd en behoort deze tot de serie Moderne Geschiedenis.
