Modern chic still life featuring pink Chinese porcelain and berries by Studio Pieternel

● Exclusive design for Werk aan de Muur / Art Heroes

This atmospheric still life centres on a rounded, antique Chinese ginger jar. The porcelain is executed in the refined Famille Rose style, recognisable by the detailed paintings of peonies and floral motifs in soft shades of pink and green-blue. A graceful branch protrudes from the vase, bearing deep pink, glossy berries of the Japanese beautyberry (Callicarpa japonica), which falls in an elegant arc to the left across the table.
A few loose berries and leaves are subtly scattered across the smooth surface. The background flows from soft pink to warm sandy colours with subtle golden accents, giving the whole piece a warm, layered look.

This atmospheric and serene artwork fits perfectly with current interior design trends. The combination of historic porcelain and an abstract, painterly background blends seamlessly with a modern chic or hotel chic interior.

The soft pastel colours and golden nuances bring tranquillity, warmth and a touch of luxury to a room. The piece is ideal as an eye-catcher in a minimalist living room, an elegant bedroom or an atmospheric dining room where splashes of colour are desired. This contemporary still life brings classic oriental charm to today’s interiors in a fresh way.
