Moddergat (Frisian: Moddergat) is a village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân, in the Dutch province of Friesland.
It lies northeast of Nes and Oosternijkerk, northwest of Lioessens and west of Paesens. The village centre lies on the seawall of the Wadden Sea. The village forms together with the village Paesens one community, under the name Paesens-Moddergat.
The two villages were originally separated by the water de Paesens; originally a sea slope that flowed into the Waddenzee. In 2019 the water will run aground on the new buildings of the twin village. The separation between the two villages is formed by the streets Kokentún and De Wiel, whereby the Kokentún is situated in Paesens and De Wiel in Moddergat.
The central road of Moddergat is the Zeeweg. Part of the village is no longer directly on the Wadden Sea but in the Paesenserpolder there is an area outside the dikes. In 2021 the population of Moddergat was 225.
