My modern, digital adaptation of a woodcut made in 1930 by Japanese painter and woodcarver Kobayakawa Kiyoshi (1896 to 1948)
It is a portrait of a Japanese Modan Gāru (also known as Moga), a Japanese woman who followed Western fashion and lifestyle in the post-World War I period. Moga's were seen as the sex symbol of the 1920s in Japan and caused much commotion. They were financially and emotionally independent, chose their own lovers, smoked, watched films, and hung out in cafes.
The stylists at Art Heroes call my art style ‘Art with a Wink’. And I couldn't agree more. Life is serious enough as it is, don't you think? ;-)
