An autumn forest is reflected in a stream in the Sint-Jansberg nature reserve near Plasmolen. I had to put my tripod in the water to be able to visualize this reflection. The reflection creates a beautiful interplay of lines in the warm autumn colors. With the help of Photoshop, I copied and mirrored the original (the standing photo). The mirrored photo is pasted to the original to get a mirrored reflection. Sint-Jansberg is a nature reserve and former estate located near Plasmolen and Milsbeek in North Limburg. The Sint-Jansberg connects the Mookerheide with the German Reichswald. The area is a moraine created in the penultimate ice age. The Jansberg is the only place in the Netherlands where the location of a glacier tongue from the Riss Ice Age (Salien) has been established. The area is an end-moraine and is part of the area that used to be the Ketelwald. Since 1970, the former estate has been under the management of Natuurmonumenten.
The area is characterized by wooded slopes and many streams. There are also some wetlands (De Geuldert, De Diepen and the Koningsven) at the foot of the Jansberg. At Plasmolen is a small dam and stands the top Plasmolen, an old water mill. The Jansberg is about 250 hectares.
