About the artwork

The Windmill of the North, near Oost on Texel, photographed during a beautiful sunset. The clouds, the reflection, the water, the colours and the mill everything seems perfect.

Het Noorden is a polder mill in the Het Noorden polder north of Oosterend on the island of Texel in the province of North Holland.

When the north-eastern areas of the island of Texel were reclaimed, a large mill was found to be needed to drain the area in 1878. When it was built, the mill was fitted with an auger. In 1928, the mill was fitted with streamline sails and three screw pumps according to the system of mill builder Dekker from Leiden. The mill went out of operation in the 1960s and became the property of the De Hollandsche Molen Association in 1970, which ordered a restoration a few years later. Later, two of the three screw pumps were also made millable again. Today, the rods are fitted with the jib reefing system with sails and the mill voluntarily grinds the water around in a circuit

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
