Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15UTI at Volkel airbase This MiG-15 used to be part of the Polish Air Force. Nowadays, the aircraft is privately owned and has the civilian registration SP-YNZ.The MiG-15 is a fighter aircraft of the design firm Mikojan-Gurevich (MiG for short).The prototype made its maiden flight in 1948 and was powered by a copy of the British Rolls-Royce Nene engine.The aircraft was a great success in the Korean War in the 1950s, where it outperformed its American opponents. The aircraft is still used to this day with several countries as MiG-15UTI trainers, including China. Thousands of aircraft of the MiG-15 have been built. This picture was taken on 14 June 2013 at Volkel Air Base during the Air Force Days.
