About the artwork
Michelle Semi-abstract portrait of a beautiful young impressive woman. Her eyes force you to look, her expression is mysterious, her countenance seductive, the surroundings abstractly expressionistic and up close you can see the structures of a mural on concrete, with a slight fibre structure of paper.
This portrait is a digital collage composed in Photoshop. It is photographic, but also painted with the vibe of the graffiti scene.
Again, I worked with a fine diagonal composition. The diagonal line drawn from top left to bottom right in this work adds dynamism and movement to the whole. However, the woman's composition is placed in such a way that her gaze direction goes straight against this, creating an exciting collision. The vertical line also plays an important role in this painting, grounding her.
The almost black and white female portrait is given warmth by the brown, ochre / terracotta colour in the right part of the painting. This combination with a touch of greyish dark blue on the left makes this work very modern and industrial.
