The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE (1958-1960), with its six-cylinder injection engine belonged to the models of the upper middle class and should not be confused with the almost identical Mercedes-Benz W 120 (1953-1962) with the sales designation Mercedes 180 (D=Diesel), which was produced at the same time.
