The Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing" (W198) is one of the most iconic and innovative sports cars fitted with signature "Gullwing" doors, hinged at the roof due to the spaceframe chassis and an aerodynamic, low-slung body, with a long hood and short rear deck. Produced between 1954 and 1957, it was the fastest production car of its era and the first Mercedes to be designated as a "SL" (Super Leicht, or Super Light) model.
