Four models of the 190 SL were initially targeted, including a sports version with a very flat windscreen, air scoop and lower-cut side doors in racing look. The Targa Florio was driven as a test vehicle in 1955, then won Macau in 1956, and received rave reviews not only from the two racing races at the time, Peter Collins and Sterling Moss.
However... tested and found to be good, but not going into series production, but strongly promoted by Mercedes-Benz in the first years of production for individual conversions and then even 50 kg lighter.
