Burg Eltz, located in the Hunsrück region of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, is one of the most photogenic castles in the world. Its unique architecture, with Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque elements, and its picturesque location above the river Elzbach make the castle particularly attractive to photographers. Owned for more than 850 years by the same family, which still lives in part of the castle, this fairytale castle has never been destroyed by wars. This is partly due to its strategic location and the diplomatic skills of its owners.

Inside, the rooms are richly decorated with original furniture, works of art and a treasury full of gold and silverware. Visitors are attracted by the guided tours that take them through the beautiful interior, and by the surrounding protected natural areas that invite walks. The castle is often depicted in literature and media for its romantic and authentic medieval appearance and has served as an inspiration and film location.
