The development of large planes and monochromatic atmospheres culminates in this painting with the use of dark navy blue. The figures are schematic, almost only outlined, enveloped in a light halo, disproportionate to the houses that reveal Cubist influences and suggest an anthropomorphic dimension.
This transforms the space into a projection of the subject encoding and producing a world through the language of the unconscious. The left half of the painting shows traces of haunting and depression, while the right half shows the euphoria of the dancing couples charging the environment and transfiguring the perspective.
