I discovered this charming motif of a baroque house façade with crumbling plaster and washed-out colours in shades of red in the picturesque tourist stronghold of Taormina, the so-called pearl of the Sicilian east coast.
The photo was taken on 25 April 2025 at midday with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR: 50.0 mm f/1.4) during my Easter trip along the coast in eastern Sicily.
A visit to the enchanting town of Taormina is a worthwhile holiday and excursion destination at any time of year. The picturesque little town impresses with its marvellous architectural features, a high gastronomic culture and highly recommended cafés and bars. There is also a far-reaching view of the unique bay with a view of the active volcano Etna with its perpetual smoke and fire.
