The Madagascar Day Gecko is a striking, colourful lizard belonging to the gecko family. This species is known for its bright green colour, often with red spots or stripes on its head and back, which helps camouflage it in its natural habitat. The Madagascar Day Gecko is mainly found on the island of Madagascar, but it is also found on nearby islands such as Reunion and Mauritius. Its habitat includes tropical rainforests, where it usually lives high up in the trees. These geckos prefer areas with lots of vegetation, such as bamboo forests and coconut palms, where they use the smooth surfaces to move around quickly. The Madagascar Day Gecko's diet consists of insects, such as crickets and flies, as well as fruit and nectar. This makes them omnivorous, and their preference for sweet foods plays an important role in the pollination of certain flowers.
