The Mikoyan-Goerevich MiG-27 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-27) (NATO code name: Flogger-D/J) is a ground attack aircraft designed by the Soviet design bureau Mikoyan. The aircraft is based on the MiG-23 which was optimized for ground attacks.
